Accountability, forgiveness and growth

Having the capacity for forgiveness is a critical competency of emotional intelligence. To have a spirit of forgiveness, you have to have a high level of self regard and self confidence, as well as having empathy for the person you’re forgiving. Also critically important is being able to see situations through other perspective. Even when you really don’t want to. Who’s kidding who especially when you really don’t want to. LOL.

The part about forgiveness that can be especially difficult for most of us, is when there needs to be forgiveness with no apology. In which case that forgiveness is a gift to yourself. It is the gift of letting emotions go ~ with no closure. That is a really tricky part.

For me, Coaching has moved me through that on a number of occasions, and I’m grateful for the life coach I work with, to push me, to get myself through to the other side. I now live a life of inner peace, which was not easy to get to but now worth everything I threw into it.
